Today in our ongoing GList series, we are featuring Keith Smith. In this digital age of endless tweets, link aggregators, and endless RSS feeds, it would seem that nobody needs to spend more than a few minutes on the internet to really get the information they need. Users consume information quickly and thus move throughout their websites quickly. 80% of Web users “log on” daily, but lack loyalty to even the hottest sites. According to Compete, users visit “favorite” sites less than 2 times a month, spending less than 8 minutes viewing only 7 pages per site. Therein lies a problem: how can we keep people engaged long enough to want to stay on our webpage?

As a veteran entrepreneur, gamification expert and the co-founder of BigDoor, Keith will discuss how to combat this “online promiscuity” based on quantitative analyses of best practices and case studies across a wide range of categories. At GSummit, Keith’s session will discuss specific strategies and tactics that online publishers can use to increase visitor loyalty – repeat visits, pages viewed and time on site. Keep your visitors faithful and be sure to follow Keith at @chiefdoorman
