Spigit, the maker of collaborative innovation management software for enterprises, has recently acquired Crowdcast. Crowdcast provides social business intelligence solutions and raised $6M in Series A funding in 2010. Spigit is aiming to provide market services and solutions that give organizations the ability to gain insight on the collective intelligence of its professional network. Crowdcast will play the role as facilitators to help organizations execute on strategic leadership decisions. Ultimately, their goal is to help businesses create a better “company culture”—a work environment where everyone is sharing knowledge in order to create accurate business predictions.
The acquisition will also result in Spigit obtaining all of Crowdcast’s patents to its portfolio and the addition of Crowdcast’s leadership team into Spigit’s executive team. Spigit’s new deal with Crowdcast is just another set of good news in addition to their recent $15.2M series E funding earlier this year, bringing their total to $26M in funding.
